Grants for Military Qualifications
After serving your country in the military, we can help you channel your leadership skills into job training. Our Imagine America military scholarships for college to trade schools can be applied to a variety of growing career paths. Whether you want to be a welder, mechanic, work in cyber security or information tech, we have scores of school partners with short-term programs that you can enroll in.
Prospective MAP applicants must meet the following guidelines to apply:
- Be enrolling into a participating college
- Active duty, reservist, honorably discharged or retired veteran of the United States military
- Likelihood of enrolling and successfully completing postsecondary education
- Not be a previous recipient of any other Imagine America Foundation scholarships/awards
- Financial need
MAP Application Process
We are glad you have decided to apply for our military grant to attend one of our participating trade schools.
You are just steps away from completing your scholarships for military veterans application. As you near the end of the process, you will be instructed to watch our quick Financial Planning Made Simple (FPMS) video. This quick tutorial will help you understand other financial decisions you will need to make. When you are done, download our mobile app. With our app, you can track the status of your application, and start looking over our articles, resources, and Student Roadmap To Success. Over the years, we have helped thousands of veterans through this scholarship for career and technical colleges. Complete your scholarship for military application to attend one of the 550 career and technical colleges we work with - and start moving further down your road to success right now...
Please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Create your profile on our portal page: www.iafportal.org.
Step 2: Follow the prompts for creating your account.
Step 3: Once you’ve created your account, you’ll need to complete your profile before applying for a scholarship. Fill out your profile completely and save it.
Step 4: After you’ve successfully saved your profile, click on the tab "Apply for Scholarships" on the left-hand navigation.
Step 5: Under "Type" select MAP for Military Award Program. Then find the school you wish to apply for by using the "Program of Interest" or the "State" search features.
Step 6: After you’ve selected your school, review the information and apply for the scholarship.
Step 7: To complete your application, you will need watch the entire FPMS video, which should automatically populate after submitting your application. If you do not have time to watch the FPMS video immediately after submitting your application, you can always log back in and watch it by selecting the "Video" tab in your left-hand navigation. After completing the video, select the red button that says "Submit and Complete."
Step 8: Your application has now been sent to your career college for the school to review. Your college also will have received an email stating that you have applied for our scholarship. Please check in with your college to see that it has everything it needs from you. Once the school has decided, you will receive an email informing you about the scholarship decision.
