New Imagine America Adult Skills Education Program (ASEP)

Beginning on July 1, the current Imagine America Online Award Program will become the new Imagine America Adult Skills Education Program. By expanding from solely online to both online and brick-and-mortar schools, ASEP will enable the Foundation and its participating colleges to assist more adult students pursuing higher education. Through ASEP, IAF will also help promote career education by forming relationships with state and federal workforce development programs and agencies.

As a new feature unique to this program, IAF is also working with the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) to create an educational success potential assessment. The assessment must be completed by all applicants at the time of application, and the score will be sent to the participating college upon completion of the ASEP application. NCCT researchers have identified characteristics of successful non-traditional students and used those characteristics to design this cutting-edge assessment.

Prospective applicants must meet the following guidelines to apply:

• Be enrolling in a participating college
• Meet eligibility requirements of the college
• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma, GED or pass an Ability to Benefit test
• Not be a previous recipient of any other Imagine America Foundation scholarships/awards
• Complete the NCCT Educational Success Potential Assessment
