Since its launch in 1998 by the Career Training Foundation, now known as the Imagine America Foundation (formerly the Career College Foundation), a not-for-profit affiliate of the Career College Association, the Imagine America Scholarship Program has continued to help thousands of high school seniors each year pursue postsecondary career education at hundreds of career schools across the United States.
In its very first year, Imagine America was honored with the Award of Excellence by the American Society of Association Executives. The following year, the Career Training Foundation was one of just nine organizations from across the United States to be chosen for the American Society of Association Executives' Summit Award, which honors organizations that "propel America forward with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards-setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship and community service."
Imagine America has also received strong support from numerous prominent youth- and education-focused organizations. Former Secretary of State General Colin Powell of America's Promise - The Alliance for Youth endorses the program.
