What is Imagine America ®?
Imagine America, sponsored by the Imagine America Foundation (IAF), is a $1,000 career education award that is available to recent high school graduates who are pursuing postsecondary education at participating career colleges across the United States.
How many Imagine America scholarships are available?
Each year, every high school may select three graduating seniors to receive $1,000 Imagine America scholarships.
What criteria are required of Imagine America recipients?
Only graduating high school seniors or recent high school graduates who meet the following recommended guidelines should apply:
- Likelihood of successful completion of postsecondary education
- High school grade point average of 2.5 or greater
- Financial need
- Demonstrated voluntary community service during senior year
When is the deadline?
2008 high school graduates have until December 31, 2008, to apply. High school graduates of 2009 can start applying on January 1, 2009.
How can I find out which career colleges participate in Imagine America?
More than 400 career colleges participate in the Imagine America program. Click here to use the career college search.
What if my high school is not in the program?
High schools must be enrolled in Imagine America before scholarship applications can be submitted from your high school. There is no fee for enrollment. Guidance counselors can enroll their high schools by calling 202.336.6724 or e-mailing us at scholarships@imagine-america.org with the following information:
- High school name
- High school full address
- High school phone number
- Full name of guidance counselor or contact
- Guidance counselor/contact e-mail address

How are applications submitted?
Imagine America applications are available online. Imagine America does not offer paper applications. Click here to apply today!
Are scholarships transferable?
Imagine America scholarships are not transferable, not negotiable, not refundable and have no cash value.
