Imagine America Foundation releases Annual Report, highlights beneficiaries of Imagine America programs
Washington, D.C. (May 13, 2008) – The transition from high school to college can be difficult, in large part because of economic and financial considerations. The Imagine America Foundation has just released its Annual Report, highlighting how tuition assistance has contributed to student success.
The Imagine America Foundation Annual Report highlights the number of lives that have been changed over the past year. Nearly 6,000 graduating high school seniors received tuition assistance to attend career colleges nationwide. Through the Military Award Program, nearly 1,500 veterans received career college tuition assistance, aiding in the transition from military to civilian life. More than 1,000 additional students received tuition assistance in order to pursue online degree programs.
The Imagine America Foundation is pleased to announce that, through the support of sponsors, more than $100,000 in cash grants was awarded to students at the top of their classes. These scholarships included Imagine America Promise, LDRSHIP Award and Martha Frances Byrne scholarships.
The Annual Report also highlights the creation of a new research initiative, the 21st Century Workforce Fund. This research initiative was founded to study critical issues facing higher education and to promote the public’s awareness of the accomplishments of career colleges.
"None of this work would be possible without the efforts of a dedicated staff; an active, fully engaged board of directors; and hundreds of career colleges nationwide – all passionate about providing educational access for millions of career college students each year," said Robert L. Martin, President of the Imagine America Foundation.
