Imagine America Foundation Announces Addition to its Board of Directors

Washington, D.C. (September 7, 2007) — Learning is a life-long process. For Sabrina Kay, joining the Imagine America Foundation’s board of directors is another important commitment to a lifetime of accomplishments within the realm of higher education.

Kay, who is Chairman and CEO of Fremont College, will be a member of the group guiding the research- and scholarship-providing arm for the career college sector throughout the 2007-2008 year as it continues making vital contributions to postsecondary education.

Bringing an expansive vision to the field of higher education, Kay comes from a diverse business and education background. She founded California Design College in 1991 as the nation’s leading institution for teaching computer-aided fashion design. As a founder of various entrepreneurial businesses such as Premier Business Bank, Fremont Private Investments, Fashion Umbrella LLC and LAdesigns.org, she has been at the forefront of educating and empowering others to reach their full potential.

Kay now holds positions on several influential business- and education-related committees, including board member of the Career College Association; chairman of CCA Political Action Committee; accreditation evaluator for the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS); and commissioner of the Los Angeles City Planning Commission.

Her philanthropic commitments are just as diverse. She founded the Sabrina Kay Charitable Foundation; is a director of L.A. INC.; and is a member of the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission, and California Fashion Association. Kay has been recognized for her achievements with numerous awards, including being named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young, Woman of the Year by the State of California Legislature, and Rising Asian Woman by the World Affairs Council.

“What Sabrina offers our board is the best of the education and business worlds,” said Robert L. Martin, president of IAF. “Her knowledge base is expansive, but more so than that, she has a tremendous understanding of what drives students, what motivates them, and how to help them become successful.”
