Women in the Workplace

In the 1970s women became more aggressive in their quest for equality. They expressed the need for equal recognition and equal pay in the workplace. Such changes have had a profound impact on our society and economy. Female students attending college increased at this time in part because of the changing gender roles of women in the 1970s.

Early Computers

When computers finally crept into businesses and offices across the country in the late 1970s, keyboarding, word processing and using spreadsheets became important skills. Much was written about word processing in the early 1970s, but little was known about its possible applications.
