Washington, D.C. (September 21, 2006) — The Imagine America Foundation (IAF), is pleased to announce the receipt of a $35,000 grant from The Sallie Mae Fund to support the Imagine America Promise scholarship program. This grant will make $1,000 scholarships available to thirty-five students who attend participating career colleges. Eligible students are previous recipients of the Foundation’s Imagine America high school scholarship who have maintained a minimum 3.5 grade point average and at least a 95 percent attendance record.
"To date, 375 students have received this award. Imagine America Promise is the fulfillment of our promise to help students maintain educational excellence in their career education," said Bob Martin, president of IAF. "We are grateful to The Sallie Mae Fund for their support of this program."
The Sallie Mae Fund has been a supporter of the Imagine America Promise programs since 2004, and plans to continue support in 2007. The Imagine America Promise scholarship program was created in 2002 and is one of four scholarship and award programs offered by IAF.
