Washington, DC (July 12, 2006) – The Imagine America Foundation (IAF) has announced the recipients of the Martha Francis Crigler Byrne Memorial Scholarship award. Ross Beavers and Katie Feldhaus were each presented with a $5,000 scholarship during a ceremony at Shelbyville Central High School, Shelbyville, Tenn.
This scholarship program was created in memory of Martha Frances Crigler Byrne, a 1970 graduate of Shelbyville Central High. Martha Francis passed away in 2004 from a long illness. She dedicated 10 years of her professional career to higher education at the Career College Association in Washington DC. Her mother, Francis Crigler, of Bell Buckle, Tenn., serves as Chairman of the scholarship program. According to Foundation President, Robert Martin, "The outpouring of support for this scholarship from CCA members is very gratifying and honors our friend and colleague."
