COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - (October 19, 2007) The Imagine America Foundation (IAF) is proud to announce that Mark Harris has received the Military Leadership Award. Harris attends MedVance Institute in Cookeville, Tenn., and studies Radiological Technology.
Harris served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years, where he earned the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He is also the recipient of several honors and awards such as the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Services Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor, Commendation Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. "It was a privilege to be given the opportunity to serve in different capacities throughout the world," said Harris.
After spending decades of his life providing an extraordinary service, Harris is now an extraordinary student with perfect attendance and a 4.0 GPA. Harris, who holds two Associate degrees and a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics, believes training at MedVance Institute will make him one of the most qualified radiological technologists in the field.
Imagine America Foundation established the Military Leadership Award in 2004 to help those who have served America attain career education. Through this national aid program, as much as $5,000 in scholarships is made available to qualified active duty, reservist, honorably discharged or retired veterans of a United States military service branch attending an Imagine America-participating or Career College Associationmember college.
"We are proud to honor the recipients of the Military Leadership Award," said Robert L. Martin, president of the Imagine America Foundation. "These service members have courageously dedicated their lives to our country. Now it's our turn to give back to them."
