GREENSBURG, Pa. - (October 19, 2007) The Imagine America Foundation (IAF) is proud to announce that Benjamin Claus has received the Military Leadership Award. Claus attends Triangle Tech in Greensburg, Pa., and studies Maintenance Electricity.
Claus began his military career early in life as a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and has since earned the rank of Sergeant. He has also received the Bronze Star for Valor for an act of extreme bravery. Claus risked his life to save soldiers trapped in a flipped Humvee while deployed in Iraq. Other military honors and awards bestowed upon Claus include two Army Commendation Medals, nine Army Achievement Medals, an Iraq Campaign Medal and the Combat Action Badge.
After spending years of his life providing an extraordinary service, Claus is now an extraordinary student with close to perfect attendance and a 4.0 GPA. He is also active in the Student Council and has maintained his position on the Dean's List. "My career college experience at Triangle Tech has been one of the most fulfilling and satisfying experiences of my life," said Claus. "Attending Triangle Tech has built my confidence and shown me my true potential."
Imagine America Foundation established the Military Leadership Award in 2004 to help those who have served America attain career education. Through this national aid program, as much as $5,000 in scholarships is made available to qualified active duty, reservist, honorably discharged or retired veterans of a United States military service branch attending an Imagine America-participating or Career College Associationmember college.
"We are proud to honor the recipients of the Military Leadership Award," said Robert L. Martin, president of the Imagine America Foundation. "These service members have courageously dedicated their lives to our country. Now it's our turn to give back to them."
