Military Leadership Awards on Capitol Hill

The Imagine America Foundation awarded $5,000 scholarships to retired and active-duty military personnel attending career colleges at a ceremony held in Washington, DC. The Foundation established the Military Leadership Award in 2004 to recognize and honor exceptional career college students who have served their country honorably in the military and decided to further their education at Imagine America participating institutions.

Representatives from each of the scholarship recipients spoke at the award presentation. These Members included: Reps. Howard Coble (R-NC), Bart Gordon (D-TN), Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-FL), and Tim Murphy (D-PA). Other congressional members also attended the event to express their support, these included: Reps. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Joe Wilson (R-SC), John Mica (R-FL) and Representative Virginia Foxx (R – NC).
