Educational research has been an integral component of the Foundation’s activities since its establishment in 1982. One of the goals for the 21st Century Workforce Fund is to conduct research that elevates the public understanding of the vital role of career colleges and their students nationwide. In the 2008 year, the Foundation, through financial support from the 21st Century Workforce Fund, will initiate research studies focusing on the impact of career colleges, their role in meeting the nation’s current skilled-worker shortage and other broad public policy issues facing the higher education sector. Study findings are first made available to Fund contributors.
Additionally, the Foundation has provided over $37 million in scholarship and award support for graduating high school seniors, adult learners and U.S. military veterans attending career colleges nationwide through its award-winning Imagine America® programs. The 21st Century Workforce Fund is committed to finance and initiate such programs that will educate America’s 21st century workforce and prepare them for changes in our global and local economies. The Fund will also serve as one of our sector’s most important tools in helping students obtain a competitive education for the job marketplace.
IAF supporters understand that the furthering of career colleges and their students begins with the contributions made today. Thank you to those who have pledged and contributed their generous support.
